League Updates:
The 2023 season is FINALLY underway! Rosters are formed, schedules are posted in SportsEngine and we are playing ball. Most in-season communication about practices, scheduling etc should flow from your coach through SportEngine and/or other means as decided by your team. Global updates will continue to be communicated through association-level emails and this newsletter.
Please share your highlights and successes with us through social media! Tag #ChaskaBaseballAssociation on your Facebook and Instagram photos or feel free to post them directly to our pages. Let’s have a great year!
NOTE: Youth League (7-10 year old’s) Year End tournament is June 23-25. Save the date! Details coming soon.
Chaska Classic this Weekend. DIBS Available:
This coming weekend (May 12-14), we will host our annual travel baseball tournament at Lion’s, Community and Pioneer Fields. 60+ teams from 9-11u will participate, and our 12u players/parents run this event as part of their fundraising.
DIBS are available to support concession stands at each site. Grab a shift or 2 before they’re claimed! We could really use your support to ensure the event runs smoothly for those making the trek to play in our community.
Save the Date: Picture Day June 5th:
Individual and team photos are scheduled for June 5th at SUNSET PARK (note: this is a change in location from previous years). The team schedule is posted below but subject to change. Your team calendar will be updated with these times within the next week.
Other DIBS Opportunities Posted:
A handful of other DIBS opportunities have been posted to the portal. Look and get signed up soon, so you are not scrambling to fulfill volunteer commitments at the end of the season.
REGISTER NOW: Starz Baseball Camp @ Community Park
Our friends at Starz Baseball Academy are hosting a 1-day camp at Community Park on Wednesday, 6/14. This is run by the head coach of St. Cloud State’s baseball program, Pat Dolan, and his staff. Historically we’ve had a very high turnout from Chaska players and surrounding communities. Take advantage on this opportunity for extra player development.

REGISTER NOW: Pitch, Hit, Run Competition Present by MLB:
Chaska Baseball and Softball have another amazing opportunity to host a Pitch, Hit and Run competition in partnership with Major League Baseball! This is a completely free event open to all 7 to 14-year-olds in Chaska and neighboring communities and will take place Friday, May 26th at 5pm. Volunteers will be needed to assist with this event.
Program Description:
The Pitch, Hit & Run program is a free event series for boys and girls, and consists of a series of movements that are important in baseball and softball. Participants will compete in either 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, or 13-14 age division, with the Age Cut-off set on November 15, 2023. They will be tested, and their measurements will be recorded for points. Based on their scores, they will advance from a local event to a Team Championship and then to the National Finals hosted at the World Series.

JOIN US! Burger Night 5/17 @ Chaska VFW:
Need quick & easy dinner plans as you run between spring sports? CBA is continuing to partner with Chaska VFW to host Burger Night the 3rd Wednesday of each month. $4 will get you a delicious, made-to-order burger and chips. This is a great way to continue building our baseball community and raise funds to go towards equipment and other needs.

CBA has formed great partnerships with our High School baseball program and the Chaska Cubs. We have an outstanding baseball culture in this community. Here is how to catch a game and show your support!
Lenzen Chevy Test Drives:
Our friends at Lenzen Chevy have been long supporters and participants in Chaska Baseball. The annual Chevy Test Drive event gives CBA members a chance to test drive a new Chevy vehicle. As incentive, Chevrolet will provide $25 on behalf of every customer that visits the dealership and takes a test drive in any one of the new Chevrolet vehicles in stock, up to a maximum of $500. Whether or not you’re in the market for a new vehicle, stop by the dealership and mention you are looking to take a test drive to support through the program. Hurry in as the test-drive program officially ends on June 30, 2023, or whenever the supplies are exhausted.
