Designed primarily for 7 & 8 year olds (6 year olds may try out, however, if they score too low on the evaluations the parent(s) may be contacted), this league is coach pitch.   By having a coach pitch to the batters, there is more action at the plate and in the field.  Fear of being hit by a pitched ball is diminished.  It makes the game safer and improves the playing confidence and ability of all participants.  It removes the boredom - which is often the result of either overpowering or inadequate pitching - by throwing only strikes.  Fewer errors and greater throwing accuracy are the result of increase in activity and additional reps!

The program receives high praise from coaches, players, parents, and league officials.  The rookie league is an excellent way to continue teaching the fundamentals of the game and building player confidence.  Within this league we offer an Mid-Season Tournament Experience.

Uniforms are provided, which includes a team jersey and official Chaska baseball hat. Parents are responsible for providing baseball pants and belt.

Games: Thursday evenings

Season Begins: Mid-Late April (weather dependent)

• Reinforce the fundamentals of baseball and build player confidence and individual fielding, throwing, and hitting. 
• Teach baseball strategy (back up, defensive positioning, cutoffs, and base running). 
• Introduce advanced skills and strategy.
